Warren Keelan (Warren Keelan) is a marinist in the world of photography. He lives in Australia, in the state of New South Wales. His subjects are ocean waves, seascapes and underwater inhabitants. In this article we take a look at his photographs of waves.

In Keelan's hands these manifestations of natural force take on endlessly varied forms and colours. Some appear as weightless splashes suffused with warm sunlight; others as leaden swells of an evening tide. A blazing sun on the horizon or an overcast day each bring their own quality of light, transforming waves that might at first glance seem identical. The author himself underscores this diversity and the individuality of each work by giving every photograph its own title. We have captioned each of the waves shown here as they appear on Keelan's website — it is a pleasing game to try to read the figures concealed within each image.

Warren Keelan spends most of his time in or around the water, photographing the ocean and its inhabitants. In 2013 he opened his first gallery, presenting his work to visitors from around the world. Keelan has received high commendation in a number of competitions.

For me, the challenge is to create an image that tells a story well or leaves a lasting impression on the viewer

Keelan describes his work in his own words: "I have always been in awe of nature, particularly the ocean and its ever-changing forms, and I feel compelled to photograph and share what I consider to be special and unique moments in the life of the sea. I love the raw, unpredictable nature of moving water and the way sunlight brings to life everything above and below its surface. For me, the challenge is to create an image that tells a story well or leaves a lasting impression on the viewer."
